On Christmas Eve, after all preparations for Christmas Day are complete, I will do what I have done every Christmas for many, many years. I’ll pull out my favorite version of A Christmas Carol on DVD, the one with Alastair Sim. This adaption of the movie was released the year I was born, 1951, so this month the movie and I will celebrating 60 years.
I have very fond memories of watching the movie as a child, and have already written much about that on another page, “Dickens A Christmas Carol with Alastair Sim and Other Favorite Adaptions“.
As the years go by and different versions of the movie are produced, I cannot be sure that this particular adaption is still the favorite of many, but am quite sure it is the favorite of many in my generation. It is a story that teaches a great lesson of redemption, forgiveness, unconditional love, how to work with a difficult boss, and much more. Go visit my other page…there is even a complete video of a 1930′s version of Dickens’ A Christmas Carol at the site.
