Voting in Presidential Elections

Published by Claudia Meydrech under Elections and Voting on February 19, 2008

I was just posting to my Married to Politics blog, and started thinking about what I remember about Presidential elections, primaries, caucuses, etc., in my family. Even though our family was known for some pretty intellectual conversation, I don’t remember a lot of talk about politics. Maybe I didn’t care enough to remember. I do know that my parents always voted Republican, they were just as much “die hard Republicans” as my husband’s parents were “die hard Democrats“. I started voting when I was voting age, and basicly voted for whoever my parents were voting for, not because I was voting blindly…there was a little too much rebellion in me at that time to do that, but because I agreed with the principals and views, as far as I was able to understand them. Those were difficult times in our Nation…but no less difficult than they are today.
