Watching Boxing, Past and Present

Published by Claudia Meydrech under TV Show Memory,Upcoming Events on January 9, 2010

The biggest name in boxing that I remember when growing up was Cassius Clay, who later changed his name to Mohammad Ali.  Of course there are a couple of other big names, like George Foreman who is quite popular today for products named after him, and then the great Joe Frazier. I can’t say that I watched much, to be honest with you. I have a hard time watching people punching each other, no matter how much money they are making.

But there are many who love the sport, for them purchasing Pacquiao versus Mayweather tickets if you are going to be in the Las Vegas area on March 13th is a must. The event is taking place LIVE at the MGM Grand Arena in Vegas.

For me, boxing is something that brings up names from the past, memories, but for you, getting a ticket to the next big event may be a must!

If Pants Could Share Their Memories

Published by Claudia Meydrech under Simple Pleasures,TV Commercials,Upcoming Events on May 3, 2008

240x180If you’re like me, you probably haven’t taken time to think like a piece of clothing, but it’s fun if you take a little time to do so. You may have NO idea where I’m going with this, but it will be clear by the end of the post ;-)

Since I work from home, I have the luxury of wearing whatever pants I want to, and in the winter, I choose a comfy pair of sweats, because we keep the temperatures down to conserve oil. They spend a lot of time keeping me warm while I sit here working on my computer, and go with me as I stoke our wood stove, or get up and take care of other things around the house. Now that the weather is warming up, those sweats are going to be a little lonely, set aside for my favorite jeans. If the weather permitted it, I’d wear jeans all the time…they were the ONLY pants to wear during my “hippy”days, and still are my absolute favorites. My jeans didn’t care how tight they were, and back then, neither did I. The memories made during those years were a lot more active than life is now, always on the go, running to this festival, or out with friends to do who knows what. One of these days I’m going to have to share more memories from those days.

All of this talk about pants is to get you thinking about a Dockers TV Commercial Contest. To be part of the Dockers contest, which sounds like great fun if you’re the creative type, you create a video sharing stories about you and your pants…now I know at least a couple of you that visit this blog are creative, what a fun way to show it! Click the links in this post for more details.
