Remember the Davey and Goliath Television Series?
Published by admin under TV Show Memory on February 26, 2009
A few weeks ago, we were surfing through the channels on one of the many snowy weekends we’ve had this cold winter, and came across the animated show “Davey and Goliath”. My husband and I both remembered the show from our childhood, and decided to watch.
“Davey and Goliath” is a television series that is so different from what you see in animated programs today…cute, entertaining, and full of positive, moral input to fill the mind instead of the “mindless” entertainment children are exposed on many, not all, television programs today. Okay, so maybe I am a little…or a lot…old fashioned:-)
DVD’s of this classic program are available now, fully restored and remastered - 4 DVD’s with 450 minutes of Davey, Goliath, and their family and friends. The price is under $20! You can’t beat that, and I’ll bet that your young children will enjoy them…and maybe blog one day about their memories.

I’m not familiar with this series, but the shows of old did were good, moral shows. One could sit down with family and friends and not worry about what was going to be on TV, it was all good entertainment. Now, I am embarrassed to sit in the same room with my children when some of these shows today come on.
I agree with you, Pam, and the commercials. I don’t know how parents handle some of the things that their children must ask them after some of the commercials, even when raising our children which doesn’t seem all that long ago it wasn’t as bad as it is now.
Thanks for stopping by and your comment!
I used to watch this show, or it’s reruns when I was real young - ages 4-6 somewhere. I called it “David and Goliath”, hehe.. I remember really enjoying those claymation shows, starting with that one.. then all the holiday ones that aired back then (and still do). I still like the claymation.
I DO remember the Davey and Goliath “claymation” cartoons! I was so excited to find them in the Dollar Store just before Christmas last year. I bought them for my granddaughters. Their Mom and Dad remembered them (sort of) and promised to watch them, too. Maybe we’ll see a revival of all things decent!
Hi Karlyn and Debra,
Glad you both remember the show, it is amazing to think of all the work that goes into making the cartoons…or went into it, I sometimes wonder if that has changed in this digital and computer age and will have to ask my graphics artist son.
Debra, it would be good to see a revival of decent things. My husband and I just watched “Enchanted” because of free Starz weekend on DirecTV and were “enchanted” with the way that they were careful to take the high road for the most part.
Thanks for the visit, ladies:-)
I used to watch this. It came on early Sunday morning. Early…
